It's no secret that the Democratic brand is in peril.
It's no secret that the Democratic brand is in peril.
Being labeled as toxic in 2022 (and 2024, and 2026) and overlooking its own candidates in favor of Independents has left citizens wondering if anyone in Dem HQ is listening and bewildered party members and representatives about how to best support their communities.
At a time when our freedoms are in free-fall, it's now up to us. It's up to us to push back against feckless leadership. To force the Democratic party to recognize what issues are important to us. To protect our immigrant, queer, and non-white neighbors. To tune out manufactured distractions and get busy fighting for the future our kids deserve.
You, my amazing neighbors, have told me that "vote blue, no matter who" is no longer your prerogative. I hear you and pledge to honor that stance through my actions, interactions and votes cast as your party representative.
It's time to rebrand the "D" to actually reflect those carrying the party. In Ingham County we're fortunate to have a Democratic group who agrees with this sentiment and is working towards that goal. So please, considering joining us!
When we shape the party, we shape the future.
